Guitar Series

  • BeBop Five
    Original on canvas (18" w x 14" h) - $300 framed
The Bebop Five was inspired when I was shopping in Charleston S.C. The group was wooden figures displayed in a window. I took a picture and was pleasantly surprised with the results and couldn't wait to go home and paint.
  • Evening Practice (sold)
    Acrylic on Canvas (51" w x 33" h)
After the last guitar student leaves for the day, I love to watch the sun filter through my studio window. I know it won’t be long before the day turns into evening. I place my old friend on the table and go downstairs for supper. I know I will soon return for Evening Practice.
  • Fret Not
    Acrylic on Canvas *18" w x 22" h)
Fret Not was a very emotional painting for me. I was right in the middle of the painting and received a call from my husband that a daughter of a very close friend had passed away. Her name was Jennifer, and she was 21 years old. Jennifer fought a long battle with cystic fibrosis. She had been hospitalized for a lung transplant, where her father and soon to be brother-in-law were donors. She died from a massive stroke. This painting is for Jennifer. It is about the end and new beginning of eternal life awaiting her, so "Fret Not" my little darling, I will see you in heaven. $575 ** 20% of all proceeds from the sale of this piece will go to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.**
  • Guitarra Azul
    Acrylic on Canvas (26" w x 38" h)
The composition was inspired by the flamenco (a Spanish dance). If you look and follow the movement and the lines of the painting you can see the dancers. The flamenco was practiced by the Gypsies of Andalusia. I was inspired to capture the fiery percussive style of the dance. $1,000
  • Guitars In The Palmettos
    Acrylic on Canvas (26" w x 38" h)
My love of guitar and the native palmetto trees of my home state, South Carolina, inspired this piece. I enjoyed painting this musical scene. Combining the guitar theme with the swaying palmettos set up an endless idea of movement. $1,000
  • Handini
    Acrylic on Canvas (20" w x 26" h)
This piece was just for fun. I enjoyed the many shapes and curves. The hands and faces popping up made for an interesting interpretation. $675
  • Jungle Music
    Acrylic on Canvas (25" w x 37" h)
This was just plain fun to paint. I loved creating all of the jungle animals - some which were planned, some not. See if you can find all of the creatures. $1,000
  • La Ciudad De Guitarras (private collection)
    Acrylic on Canvas (26" w x 38" h)
This composition reflects the music from Castles of Spain. The beautiful melodies and harmonies entwine to produce an intoxicating lyrical and poetic explosion of beautiful sounds and visual imagery.
  • Mr B
    original watercolor on paper (29" w x 26" h) - $400 framed
Mr. B. was inspired by a former guitar student of mine Brenton Sadreameli. Brenton started taking guitar when he was 10 years old. He took until he was 18, and then off to college. I was so proud when I found out that Brenton, now twenty-six years old, had designed a guitar slide from wine bottles. Brenton owns and runs Mr. B's Bottleneck Guitar Slides. I hope you can feel the blues! If you would like to know more about Mr. B's contact www.mrbsguitarslides.com.
  • Nautical Eclipse
    Acrylic on Canvas (22" w x 26" h)
My daughter Kerry inspired Nautical Eclipse. She loves sailboats and the colors of yellow and purple. $775
  • Primal Prelude
    Acrylic on Canvas (30" w x 40" h)
This piece was inspired by the Gorilla Music composition from the Pilgrim Forest CD by Christopher Berg, Professor of Music at the University of South Carolina. This was fun to paint because of the many different movements and rhythms. It was like creating a forest to frolic in. $1,100
  • Sheer Whimsy
    Acrylic on Canvas (18" w x 22" h)
This was painted on a whim. This piece was the start of the Guitar Series. I was encouraged by Michel McNinch (a friend and great art mentor) to paint more guitar paintings. Thanks Michel. $575
  • Social Calling Card
    acrylic on canvas (24" w x 30" h) - $500
Social Calling Card is a 19th century trade card, which in turn developed as a commercial outgrowth of the elaborate ritual of Victorian Calling Cards. It is an invitation to a social event. The Social Calling card is among the few means through which you could gain entry to somebody to whom one had not been introduced.
  • The Players
    Acrylic on Canvas (16" w x 20" h)
Inspiration for this piece came very easily from being a woman and a classical guitarist. I thought I would have fun with the playful movements of the ladies. Unframed $400
